The next installment after Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King

Blossom Tales II: The Minotaur Prince is a single-player puzzle game that invites you to another classic action-adventure gameplay of Lily from Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King. This game is the second installment of the Blossom Tales franchise, set hundreds of years after The Sleeping King.

Blossom Tales II: The Minotaur Prince is similar to games like CHRONO TRIGGER®, Stardew Valley, Assassin’s Creed, and BlazBlue Entropy Effect—which gives players an action and adventure gameplay experience. This game offers a unique take on the genre as the game starts in a storytelling way.

Play as Lily and save her brother

The story in Blossom Tales II: The Minotaur Prince unfolds through the playful narration of a grandfather telling a tale to his grandchildren, Lily and Chrys, who periodically chime in with humorous comments and alter the course of the narrative. This narrative style feels refreshing and keeps the tone light-hearted while giving players choices that subtly affect gameplay, such as choosing enemy types or environmental obstacles.

Here, Lily must embark on an adventure to rescue her brother Chrys from the Minotaur King, who has risen again. This setup provides a clear goal for players while offering plenty of opportunities for exploration and discovery along the way. Its gameplay is where the game shines. The top-down view, real-time combat, and puzzle-solving elements all echo the best aspects of classic Zelda titles, particularly A Link to the Past.

Players control Lily, who wields a sword, shield, and a variety of tools such as bombs and a bow. The controls are responsive and intuitive, making combat enjoyable, whether you’re battling hordes of enemies or engaging in boss fights that require a mix of strategy and quick reflexes. However, while there are a fair number of enemies scattered throughout the game, the variety is somewhat limited.

Defeat Minotaur King and solve tricky puzzles

Blossom Tales II: The Minotaur is a fantastic follow-up to the first game that builds on the original’s formula while adding new layers of depth and charm. It is a delightful mix of action, exploration, and storytelling that appeals to fans of classic adventure games. With its engaging narrative, well-crafted world, and nostalgic aesthetic, the game is definitely a must-try.
